In 2020, Miami will once again play host to US Sailing’s premier event, the 2020 Hempel World Cup Series Miami – the 31st year of Olympic racing on Biscayne Bay – featuring top-level Olympic-class competition. As the only North American regatta to be included in World Sailing’s 2020 Hempel World Cup Series, the regatta is a mainstay on the winter circuit for sailors campaigning for the next Olympic Games.
Competitors in the 49er, 49er FX, RS:X, Nacra 17 and Kiteboard events will have five days of fleet racing from Tuesday, January 21 to Friday, January 24 with medal races on Saturday, January 25. Athletes competing in the Laser, Radial, Finn, and 470 will have six days of fleet racing from Tuesday, January 22 to Saturday, January 25, with medal races on Sunday, January 26. Medals will be awarded to the top three boats in each class.
Regatta Headquarters will be located at the US Sailing Center – Miami, in Coconut Grove, Miami, Fla. The Coral Reef Yacht Club hosts the Opening Ceremony.
